Choose one of the following topics, covered in our textbook from Brodd, et al. Based on the information presented by Brodd, compose a descriptive essay explaining the main ideas covered in the indicated section as you would to a curious friend. If you choose, you may draw connections with the selections we read from Hindu sacred text. Choose one of these topics: (a) Hindu beliefs about divine reality, pp. 93-98; (b) the quest for liberation, pp. 98-104; (c) the caste system, stages of life, aims of life, pp. 104-107.
Based on the documentary we watched, Rays of the Absolute, and our reading of Nisargadatta’s book I Am That, respond to the following prompt: how’s Nisargadatta’s book relevant to our life today? What can we learn from this book that can be of use in our social, political, or moral lives today?
