The Topic
The topic for your paper will be a summary of the influences of American culture in the 1930s upon Walt Disney’s adaptation of the
European folktale of Snow White, as presented in the academic journal article entitled Romancing the Tale; Walt Disney’s Adaptation of the Grimms’ Snow White.
Your paper will summarize how the following 3 points influenced Disney’s version of the classic Brothers Grimm tale:
the changing role of women in society in the 1930s
society’s concept of romance in the 1930s
popular political systems of the 1930s
The Length
The body of your midterm paper must be 5 paragraphs minimum. You should write:
An introductory paragraph
A paragraph discussing the changing role of women in society
A paragraph discussing society’s concept of romance
A paragraph discussing the popular political systems
A concluding paragraph

Adaptation of the Grimms’ Snow White by Terri Martin. The content of your midterm paper must be drawn from this journal article. Do not use other sources, such as Wikipedia; only use the journal article provided to you.
