We will be looking to see if self-monitoring will increase the number of minutes

We will be looking to see if self-monitoring will increase the number of minutes spent studying daily using an ABAB single-subject design. Please refer to the review link for ABAB designs since we will not be covering that for a few weeks. Then read the Willis et al. (2014) article. You MUST use this article in your paper.
Studying can include time specifically devoted to 213w tasks. It is up to you how you will operationally define the behavior. You will be required to write out the procedure for this study including identifying the IV, DV, research design, materials, procedure, participants etc. This is a general structure and you are allowed to make small deviations with prior approval. You must email me if you are going to use something other than an ABAB design.
General Procedure:
1. Set a behavior goal for how many minutes a day you want to spend studying (example: 30 mins)
2. Operationally define the goal.
3. Download goal tracking app: Strides (apple platform: https://www.stridesapp.com/ ; andorid: https://alternativeto.net/software/strides/?feature=todo-manager&platform=android).
4. Enter goal data into the app.
5. Set cell phone timer alert to go off every day at a specific time.
6. Record the number of minutes you spent studying at the end of the day on an excel sheet.
7. If you hit your goal, check it off in the app.
